Mr. Monower Ahmed

Mr. Monower Uddin Ahmed, a graduate of Rajshahi University (1955), earned his postgraduate degree in
Public Administration from Karachi University in 1957. With over six decades of experience in
human resource management, organizational development and industrial relations, he is a seasoned
HR strategist and consultant. As the CEO and Lead Consultant and Founder at Monower Associates,
he provides expert consultancy services to the public, private and development sectors. His areas of
expertise include organizational restructuring, HR policy formulation, performance management,
compensation strategies and employee relations.
A notable achievement in his career was overseeing the downsizing of British American Tobacco
Bangladesh, where he managed the closure of a major plant employing 2,000 workers, ensuring
smooth transitions and minimizing social impact. His extensive experience spans both multinational
corporations and local organizations, where he has advised on governance, HR strategy, and labor
law compliance.
Mr. Ahmed has also served as Executive Director and Board Member at British American Tobacco
Bangladesh, and held senior HR leadership roles at Glaxo Limited and Carew & Company Ltd. He
has contributed to national committees such as; the Minimum Wages Board and the National
Steering Committee on Vocational Training Reforms, and has represented employers at
international forums. With a strong academic foundation in public administration and extensive
global HR training, Mr. Ahmed continues to be a trusted advisor for organizations seeking to
optimize HR functions and navigate complex organizational challenges.
